The meaning of the words is determined by God

From the very beginning, the use of language is fundamental to what it means to be human. Other creatures communicate, but it is clear that only humans do so with the intellect, insight, and awareness that express the deep things of God. As creatures, humans were created in the image of God, unique to other creatures that God made to crawl and swim on the face of the earth (Genesis 1:27). Both man and woman are created in God's image, which means that man was created to reflect his glory throughout the earth.

Consistent with this concept, one way to do this is through the use of language. Therefore, we receive His communicative revelation through nature and His Word, and in turn use language as part of our reflexive duty as bearers of God's image.

There was an understandable speech in the Garden of Eden. God spoke rationally to Adam and Eve by creating Adam and expecting him to respond rationally (Genesis 1: 29-30). This unwavering call of humanity to take dominance and cultivate creatively extends to the use of language and the way we use our words to make sense of who God is. And so, as Christians, we draw our strength from his written word. We are saved and renewed by His Incarnate Word, Jesus Christ, and we work as those who know that one day we will be accountable for every word spoken in vain. The words we use have a meaning given to them by the one who speaks of the existence of the cosmos. He is the Author of all meanings, communicating in one moment through the spoken word, but now from that moment on and forever in the full and final revelation of Jesus and the written Word (Hebrews 1: 1-2). As we see in the examples of Babylon and Pentecost, God is the only one empowered to give meaning to the use of language as well as to take it away.

As we see all around us today, there is a way in which language can be used in a way that opposes our Creator and seeks to usurp Him. This happens when words are not used objectively and correctly. The modern redefinition of words is responsible for much of the demise of today's Western society. The words are ruthlessly distorted and their true meaning is changed in order to achieve the ideological goals of a zealous minority. Here's a few examples:

"It's not undermining the family, it's gay marriage."

"This is not killing a baby, this is reproductive freedom."

"This is not a genital mutilation, but a gender reassignment.

"This is not a right, but a demand for equality."

At the height of this redefinition, the Church sat idly by, allowing the proper use of words to be detached from us by those who want their own definition of reality instead of God's. Their universe is not about discovering a meaning that already exists, but a desire to create a new meaning and ultimately a new reality that sees them as sovereign gods of their own destinies. The real viciousness of this theft is that while we are the only ones who have the right to use correctly the words that lead to the New Creation that God foresaw, we have allowed postmodernism to creep in and falsify in vain attempts to build its own reality. .

Using them in words is, at best, illegal and is an attempt to live beyond the reality of God and the scope of His purposes. It is time for Christians to regain their tongues and regain their true and fair use of words. As man foolishly tries to manipulate the spoken and written Word to accomplish his own ends, God does His will in the person of His Son, who is the Incarnate Word, and He empowers His people for the task of dominion through the means of His writings. words.

Only when the church begins to change the conversation by restoring the use of the right language will we end abortion. Abortion is not right. Abortion is not reproductive freedom. Abortion is not health care. Abortion is not an abortion. Abortion is the killing of unborn children in the womb. It is time to break the political rhetoric and obscure the real problem. Tell the truth!
